How to Activate Point-and-Chat™

 

To activate Point-and-Chat® you must first have installed it on the computer where you want to run Point-and-Chat®. This is because the licenses are computer-specific. You must also have run it at least once on that computer. It is easier (but not necessary) for that to be the computer that is connecting to this activation web page. Follow the steps below. Activating Point-and-Chat® will require that you purchase a license from the Saltillo e-shop.

After you purchase the license, activation will be performed by us from the Internet. After activation, you can later use a special share code to transfer your license to (or share your license with) another computer. You will be able to find that number in the Help menu.

If you have run Point-and-Chat before as a free trial, and now want to activate it, but don't know where to find the license number: You can do this by running Point-and-Chat (on whatever computer it is located), clicking on the menu heading Help > About, and writing down the number in the field called License Number. You can then either click on the menu heading Help > Purchase/Activate and follow the directions, or you can come back to this page.

I haven't downloaded Point-and-Chat yet. Please start the computer on which you want to use Point-and-Chat. Then visit the download page at www.simtalk.com/PnC/FreeTrial/ and follow the instructions. Then return to this page.

I haven't installed Point-and-Chat yet. Please read the Quick Installation Guide for instructions on how to install the free trial from the web. Please start the computer on which you want to use Point-and-Chat and follow the installation instructions. Then return to this page.

I haven't run Point-and-Chat yet. Go to the computer on which you want to use Point-and-Chat and double-click on the desktop shortcut called "PnC IM". Instead, you can read the Point-and-Chat User Guides for more information. Running Point-and-Chat for the first time will assign you a license number. Then return to this page.

I have run Point-and-Chat before, as a free trial, but there is no license number in the About box. Point-and-Chat must first connect to the server to obtain a license number. Please make sure your Internet connection is working, close and run Point-and-Chat again, and then be patient. Once assigned a license number, Point-and-Chat will run free for 30 days without activation. If a few days go by and there is still no license number, please click here for alternative activation options.

I have activated Point-and-Chat through the e-shop, but it does not appear to be activated. Please allow a few days from the time of your purchase until activation happens. You may still use Point-and-Chat if you have purchased the license and paid the activation fee, even if the software does not appear to be activated. It should continue to work during the activaton process. If it is not activated after a few days, please click here to get assistance.
