Integration Kit for DynaVox Series 5

PLEASE NOTE: There are currently two different Point-and-Chat programs that can run on your computer: instant messaging (IM) and email (Mail). If you want to control BOTH from your DV5, you will need a valid copy for each program installed on the computer - AND - you should use a different Integration Kit designed for both programs.

This Integration Kit is especially designed to control only Point-and-Chat Instant Messaging.

These instructions are for using a DynaVox Series 5 device to work with and control Point-and-Chat, when Point-and-Chat is running on a separate nearby computer. These instructions are not for installing Point-and-Chat on a DynaVox Series 5 device.

If you have trouble viewing the pdf file in your browser, first make sure that you are using the most current version of Adobe Reader -- and the most current version of your browser. If you still have trouble, right mouse-click on the pdf file, then save it to your computer (using for example the "Save Target As" command), then open the pdf file that is now on your computer.

This Integration Kit is designed for when the DynaVox Series 5 device uses an AccessIT wireless IR receiver to connect to a Windows computer.

Download the zip folder DV5-IM.zip. Then extract ("unzip") it.

You can use Windows Explorer to find the downloaded "DV5-IM.zip". Then right click on "DV5-IM.zip". Then from the pop-up menu choose "Extract All" files.

Import two files from the extracted DV5-IM folder into the DynaVox Series 5 device.

The unzipped folder named "DV5-IM" will contain two files: "PnC-24-C5.epg" and "go-to-chat-page.jpg". These two files must be imported into the DynaVox Series 5 device according to the General Instructions. The "PnC-24-C5.epg" file is a Control Page that lets the DynaVox Series 5 device send commands to Point-and-Chat. The "go-to-chat-page.jpg" file is an image for the "Go To" button that will navigate to "PnC-24-C5.epg".
