Once there lived a lovely little girl.   Her mother and grandmother loved her dearly.

Her grandmother made her a red velvet hood -- the kind for going out riding.  She wore it everywhere.

It suited her well and she looked quite good in it.  So everyone called her Little Red Riding Hood.
