His wife said, "Let him live.  He's been loyal for years."  The shepherd replied, "He is toothless.

He can't scare away thieves.  He can't earn his living anymore.  Tomorrow will be his last day."

Old Sultan heard everything the shepherd and his wife said.  He became frightened.
